Justice for Jared

Chantler & Company represents the family of Jared Lowndes, a Wet’suwet’en man of the Laksilyu Clan, who was killed by members of the RCMP in Campbell River on July 8, 2021. A civil claim has been brought against BC’s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General and four unnamed police officers. In October, 2023, the Independent Investigation Office of BC submitted a report to Crown Counsel for consideration of charges in respect of three of the officers.
